Where Is That Infernal Muse of Mine?

Or did I lose the writer lottery… and didn’t get the memo?

I’m jealous of Steven Pressfield and his delightful muse.

Ever since I heard a podcast with Steven Pressfield, talking about his close relationship with his muse, I’ve noticed some resentment growing within.

I suspect it’s emanating from the fact that mine (assuming we all have one) seems to be avoiding me.

Heck, we haven’t even been introduced!

Or perhaps these muses are somewhat picky, flying around the ether ‘musing’ as to which lucky recipient to pick. I wonder what they use as their barometer to making their decision.

In the meantime, yours truly is slaving away, dutifully filling all the requirements of any aspiring writer, spending my days seeking that creative channel one hears about.

And still… nothing.

This whole muse thing is very disappointing. I mean, it sounds so incredible, this ‘entity’ arrives in your writing sessions and suddenly, the epiphanies keep flowing directly to the keypad. Really?
