Mindless-Movie Fan Possibly Matures — And it’s all Medium’s fault

My movie genre of choice for the past ten years has been the ‘mindless movie’ genre…
You know the one — predictable, comfortable, non-challenging in every way.
I haven’t managed to see every single Marvel release, but almost… Now you’re beginning to realize just how serious this issue has been.
I’ve been looking for comfort viewing, partly out of exhaustion, but also sheer laziness. I haven’t wanted my intellect tested, I wanted nothing tested. I wanted the equivalent of wallpaper but in movie form.
It also means I can turn these movies off at any stage and not feel any disappointment, which I suppose I’d feel if there was some actual attachment to it. And besides, I know how it ends, after all, predictability was part of the decision-making process.
My default over these years has been action movies. Not completely mindless ones, but one step above. But not quite as low as this guy:
