Loved the book. Feel ambivalent about the movie. Less sure I’ll watch it after your review. I also know the welfare lifestyle (UK version, which is more benevolent and the National Health Service) and got a bit of a taste for being a Have-Not. It’s not fun to be looking over the fence at what obedient have.

I would love to see a movement towards civics and a deeper understanding of their history of this country. About the white fat cats who turned the poverty stricken white against their similarly situated black. It’s a fascinating history and demonstrates how much the poor white has been conned, and instead of turning anger towards the Haves, has been misdirected towards racial diversity.

If all the poor voted for the same party, it would be a landslide and change this country in ways most of us want.

Equality for all, and a benevolent society can’t come quickly enough.

Thank you.
