I think it’s also simply that we want those cherished ‘feelings’ again.

It was how that person made me feel in that moment, ‘back in the day,’ that I have nostalgia for.

So I guess I know that the feelings I have for that nostalgia are within me anyway, and not necessarily dependent on another. Not sure if I’m making sense, but nothing ever seems ‘the same’ when we try to recreate it. —Which doesn’t mean it’ll always be for the worse.

We’re constantly growing, as is everyone (I’m being hopeful here, I know) and frequently that means actually growing apart.
